I have changed the link for "[Robin Wilson has been] as of 2006, Professor of Geometry at Gresham College, London". Previously it was a link to 'Professor' and another to 'Geometry'. This was misleading, because the Gresham Geometry chair isn't limited to geometry, but is open to anything from within mathematics. (Indeed, Professor Wilson gave his lectures in the history of mathematics). So the previous link was misleading here. I replaced it with one to the Gresham chair directly. Irrelevancy

[edit]

What is an info table for Harold Wilson doing on Robin Wilson's page? If anyone knows, please answer! Otherwise it ought to be removed. Zaslav (talk) 00:51, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Publications

[edit]

Aren't books etc in the Publications section normally arranged with the earliest ones first? I'm not sufficiently experienced to know where to find guidance.Thomas Peardew (talk) 08:48, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A few things ...

[edit]

Several of the links in the External Links section are broken.

Also note that he retired from the OU in 2009, although remains as an emeritus. --Matt Westwood 03:06, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Title?

[edit]

Did he not inherit the title of Lord Wilson? Valetude (talk) 17:38, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that probably not. According to this 1983 London Gazette announcement, his father, Harold Wilson, was created a life peer rather than a hereditary peer. Nsk92 (talk) 02:13, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Time with Open University

[edit]

Whilst he was with the Open University, he was a major contributor (he may even have been the primary initiator) of the course "Graphs, Networks and Design". This had the original Course Code TM361, but was supplanted by MT365 (same course title) which had an additional computer based element.

Lead is careerist

[edit]

The current lead is entirely devoted to his careerist appointments, and doesn't even mention his area of mathematical specialization, or any result he ever contributed, as befitting a mathematical non-entity with an Erdös number greater than 7. Is this severe slander intentional or not? — MaxEnt 16:46, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
